We have lots of opportunities for folks who want to pitch in, either for a day or for a longer-term commitment. At the annual membership meeting on May 6, we will discuss church operations and policies as a group. One of the most important things we'll do is revitalize the committee membership, including committee chairs. Meanwhile, here are some opportunities!
Brunch: Always needed and greatly appreciated. We have a whiteboard for sign-ups, with space for each Sunday except the third Sunday of the month, dinner day. You shop for goodies--anything from bagels and schmeer to something a little heartier. Then, on Sunday, you make coffee, set up the food, and give the financial table folks the receipts. If you need help with the coffee-maker, cleanup or anything else, just let us know!
Kitchen: If you want to be one of the folks who pitches in with kitchen-work when you see a few folks frantically chopping, washing up, or wiping down--feel free to join the fun!
Music: We're on our way to recruiting musical talent to help out when Rob chairs a meeting, or just needs a Sunday for business or personal reasons. Still, we could always use someone who can plunk out a tune. Despite our choir's best efforts, we just aren't at our best singing a capella!
Semi-heavy lifting: We'll be having our carpets cleaned, probably in late April; we'll need people to help take down chairs and tables in the basement.
Greeting: We can also use friendly faces in the foyer upstairs, to meet and greet visitors to our church as part of the Reception committee, pass them the latest newsletter and pamphlets of interest, and help them find a seat.
Events: The March 31 open house and Mediums' Day in April will need volunteers to meet and greet, keep up with the kitchen goings-on, and what-not. See "Coming Events" for more information on dates and times.
Please remember that those who serve the church in a public capacity are expected to dress "business casual" or better--with exceptions as appropriate for heavy kitchen work.
